Srinagar: Restrictions are likely to be imposed in old city of Srinagar on Saturday in view of the march called by Hurriyat Conference (G) to commemorate the killing of youths during the ‘peaceful’ agitations in the past three years in the Valley.On Sunday, Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman, Syed Ali Shah Geelani had asked the people to observe a complete shutdown on June 11 to commemorate the killing of youths besides to press for the trail of the forces personnel responsible for the killing of 118 people, mainly youth in 2010 unrest and release of all political prisoners. “The day will be observed as Remembrance Day. Prayers should be held across the state for the martyrs who laid down their lives for our tomorrow. People should offer prayers at the graveyards where our national heroes are buried,†Geelani had said.Reliable sources told on Friday that high level meetings were held in Srinagar to discuss the maintenance of law and order in view of Geelani’s programme. The meetings chaired by Inspector General of Police (IGP) discussed the measures to prevent any untoward incident in view of the shutdown.Talking to reports here, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir zone, S M Sahai dodged a query on restrictions in wake of the separatist program tomorrow.     Similar meeting, sources said was also held in other district headquarters. Pertinently, state authorities have placed under house arrest the veteran leader to foil the proposal programme.
