Uri, 27 Apr: A residential house was gutted in a massive fire at Trikanjan village of sub division Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday late night around 8:35.
Reports reaching to Kashmir Media Watch, said that the fire broke out at around 8:35 p.m in the evening on Tuesday and soon after the fire broke out locals reached the spot and tried to douse the flames. They said that property worth lakhs was destroyed in the devastating fire.
Meanwhile, an official said that the residential house belonged to owner namely Bashir Ahmad Bhat S/o Ali Bhat, of village Trikanjan. He said that there was no loss of life and the police team is on job.
Locals alleged that there was no fire tender “we were waiting for the Fire tender but it was not available, this is the second fire incident from last 24 hours” said one of the local.
Army official of Torna Bn while talking to Kashmir media watch correspondent said “On the night of 27 Apr at 8.30 PM a distress call was received by Torna Battalion from the locals hmmmand officials of civil administration regarding a fire incident in the Border village Trikanjan of Boniyar Tehsil (Barmulla)”.
“Sensing threat to life and property the Battalion Fire Fighting team swung into action with requisite equipment, Water Bowsers and manpower. On reaching the site the Team quickly assessed the situation and employed the fire fighting resources befittingly. Since the site incident was located away from road head, application of water bowsers was hindered” he added.
Meanwhile official further said that “Displaying required professional accumen, the team handled the situation with utmost precision and doused the fire with the support of the local youth. The locals and officials of Civil Administration expressed their gratitude towards Army for the timely assistance which saved precious lives and property”
