Renowned Activist Saleem Akthar enters Zadibal Electoral Fray

Srinagar, June 20: (KMW):In a significant development before 2014 Assembly Elections in Jammu & Kashmir , Saleem Akthar Malik (Reshi) ,a Prominent Social and Political Activist has decided to contest 2014 Assembly Elections as Independent Candidate from the Prestigious Zadibal Constituency. “After witnessing unprecedented sufferings of the people of my area I have decided to contest as Independent Candidate from Zadibal as all the traditional political forces have failed people of Zadibal. People are pining for refreshing change and they deserve it. We have problems faced by artisans, weavers, unemployed youth which have remain unaddressed especially in Zadibal Constituency as unfortunately we have on every instance seen incompetent elected representatives elected from our area. We need a development in our area free from any sectarian bias or undue favour,” stated Saleem Akthar while addressing an impressive gathering in his Zadibal Constituency.

Pertinently, Saleem Akthar received rousing reception from the locals and a body namely Zadibal Development Forum was constituted on the occasion which endorsed the candidature of Saleem Akthar . Ghulam Rasool Akhoon was nominated as Block President, Haji Abdul Rasheed as VicePresident Farooq Ahmad Reshi as General Secretary , Mohammad Yousuf Pando as Block Secretary and Press conveyor post was given to Zubair Ahmad.
Besides being highly qualified, Saleem Akthar is also a well known anti- drug addiction activist and an entrepreneur having business spread in Gulf region.

I absolutely desire to be an agent of positive change and I am hopeful that my people will stand with me in this noble battle. We need freedom from politics of dynasty and opportunism. All the traditional political forces be it Congress or National Conference and People’s Democratic Party have by and large letdown the people of Kashmir as ground facts prove this . Need of the hour is change which can be achieved through only sensible voting ,” added Saleem Akthar .
