Srinagar, Dec 14: Police Monday used teargas and light canon charge to disperse the protestors at Budshah Chowk here, protesting against undue distribution of ration.
The city centre witnessed massive traffic jam after Maisuma residents protesting against ‘faulty’ ration distribution staged a protest at Budshah Chowk here.
The protesters block the busy Budshah Chowk triggering massive traffic jam in the Lal Chowk area.
Raising anti-government slogans, the protesters also set on fire their ration cards.
They alleged that the department of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) had failed to distribute the monthly ration due to them.
“Providing five kilos of ration won’t make a difference in our lives,” they said.
Police used teargas shelling and lathi charge to disperse the women protesting protestors to restore traffic movement on the busy road.
