Committee finalizes its deliberations, submits report to cabinet shortly
JAMMU: The Cabin
et Sub Committee (CSC) constituted by the government to look into various issues arising from the terms and conditions of entrustment of Hydro Electric Projects with National Hydro Electric Power Corporation (NHPC) in the State met here today under the chairmanship of the Minister for Finance & Ladakh Affairs, Mr. Abdul Rahim Rather.
The Minister for Rural Development, Law & Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar, Minister for P.H.E, Irrigation & Flood control Mr. Taj Mohi-ud-din, Minister for Tourism and Culture, Mr. Rigzin Jora, Managing Director, JKPDC, Mr. Basharat Dhar and Consultant PHE, Irrigation & FC, Mr. V.K.Abrol attended the meeting.
The CSC held threadbare discussion on various aspects of the subject and finalized its deliberations today and it will submit its report shortly to the State Cabinet.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rather reaffirmed Government’s resolve to exploit maximum possible hydroelectric potential available in the state. He said major reforms in power sector were inevitable to make power supply proportionate to power revenue. He has also sought cooperation of the civil society to ensure judicious use of electricity and check power pilferages and thefts imperative to reduce recurring losses in the power sector. (KMW News)
