Rajendra for fresh imputes in police trainings to bring it on modern lines

SRINAGAR, MAY 14: Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. K. Rajendra Kumar has stressed for innovative changes in professional policing by giving new imputes to the training institutions. He has said that the role of trainers is of prime importance in keeping the cops abreast with the knowledge and rules, besides instilling a sense of discipline and responsibility.
Mr. Rajendra was speaking while inaugurating daylong workshop for the Principals and Training Staff of Police Training Institutions of Kashmir Province held at Police Headquarters (PHQ) here today. He said that police is doing the most critical role in maintaining peace and order and the Training Institutions have to bring changes in their working in order to transform the dreams of Organization to make JKP a model police force in the country. He said that with the sense the Organization has started to upgrade training infrastructure in the training institutions and introduce smart policing with attitudinal change at lowest level.
Mr. Rajendra said that trainers have a great role to equip the recruits with professional excellence and imbibe a sense of public service among them. Cordial relations between the trainees and the instructors inscribe a positive impact which guides the recruits throughout the service career, enhancing their public deliverance also. He said that positive behaviour makes a professional police personnel more dedicated and responsible towards his duties in the field fulfilling the expectations of the people. Good deliverance enhances the image of the Organization and any misdeed by a single member brings public resentment for the whole family, said Mr. Rajendra.
DGP disclosed that 4,000 youth are being recruited in JKP for which a transparent recruitment is at its final stage. He said that for the first time recruitment has been made with the cooperation of outsourced agency introducing latest gadgets to examine the capabilities of the aspirants. With the induction of these 4,000 youth, police training institutions would have to brace up for imparting the basic training to these recruits. Confidence building and imbibing sportsmanship should be given priority, besides making them abreast with the latest technologies.
Mr. Rajendra also emphasised the role of senior officers for ensuring quality training using the training infrastructure available in the institutions. He said that the supervisory officers should visit the institutions and get feedback from the trainees randomly to bring necessary changes in the working. PHQ is always supporting to provide logistics to the training institutions in order to enhance their functioning.
DGP appreciated ADGP (Trainings) for his efforts to bring more improvements in the working of police training institutions. He said that the interaction between senior officers and training staff of institutions would help to identify the areas where improvements are required to be made. He stressed to implement the decisions taken during the workshop for the betterment of trainees.
Senior police officers including Special DGP (Coordination), Mr. SK Mishra, ADGP (Trainings), Mr. Navin Agarwal, ADGP (Headquarters), Mr. VK Singh also addressed the workshop and put forth suggestions for bringing innovative changes in the working of training institutions.
