SRINAGAR, JUNE 26: Stressing the need for effective mechanism among all security forces and Intelligence agencies to maintain peace and security in the State, Director General of Police, K. Rajindra said that peace is imperative for development and growth in different fields which should be maintained at all costs.
The Director General of Police said this while chairing a high level security meeting of senior officers from JKP, CRPF, BSF, Army, ITBP and Intelligence agencies held here today.
IGP Jammu Zone attended the meeting through video conference.
The meeting deliberated on various important issues relating to the internal security situation in the State. The officers representing different security agencies briefed the meeting about the measures taken on different fronts with regard to safety and security of the State.
Mr. Rajendra said that rule of the law should be ensured at all costs and nobody should be allowed to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere in the State. He said that JKP along with other security forces is firm to tackle any situation and any subversive act by the militants will be faced with fortitude. The desperate attempts by the militants to target security personnel would not deter us to prevail complete peace in the State. He said that all forces engaged in the security of the State would collectively tackle with the terrorism and would leave no stone unturned to safeguard the interests of the people.
The DGP referring the recent attacks by the militants to harm the security personnel, said that men in uniform are retaliating with a view to avoid killing of innocent people. He said that forces are restraining while responding to such acts in order to avoid collateral damages. He stressed for adopting people friendly approach while dealing with the hostile situation.
During the meeting, Special DG CRPF, Additional Directors General of Police, senior officers from Army, BSF, ITBP, intelligence, Zonal IsGP, range DIsGP and district Superintendents of Police briefed the meeting about the law and order and security situation in their respective jurisdictions.
Mr. Rajendra asked the officers to implement the common strategy already framed to deal the situation. He said that joint meetings and input sharing would give better results of the strategy adopted by the agencies. Convene joint regular meetings to share the inputs and strengthen the communication to foil nefarious designs of the anti-national elements, he added.
The meeting also discussed security arrangements put in place for smooth and peaceful conduct of Shri Amar Nath Ji Yatra.
DGP asked for smooth regulations of traffic movement on National Highway and other routes leading to the Holy Cave via Pahalgm and Baltal for the convenience of pilgrims and commuters. He also sought peoples’ cooperation for maintaining law and order and smooth vehicular traffic on the road.
Among others, the meeting was attended by DG HG/CD, Gopal Reddy, Spl. DG CRPF, SN Srivastav, Maj. Gen. GOC CIF (V), Ashok Narula, ADsGP, VK Singh, SM Sahai, Dilbag Singh, L. Mohanti, IsGP, HK Lohia, SJM Gillani, MS Salaria, MA Khan, MA Ganai, Viplav Kumar, IG CRPF Adm. Atul Karwal, JD IB, Harmeet Singh, IG CRPF Ops. Nalin Prabhat, Addl. Commr. SB, Rajamuragan, IG BSF, Vikas Chander, Dy; Dir: IB Ajay Kumar, DIsGP, Nitish Kumar, GH Bhat and Uttam Chand, DIG BSF Ops, Rajinder Panday and other police officers.
