Speaking at the AJK Assembly, the newly elected prime minister vows to show zero tolerance for corruption and work on merit.
Raja Farooq Haider Khan of Pakistan Muslim League (N) took oath as Prime Minster of Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday afternoon.
AJK President Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan administered the oath to newly elected Prime Minster during a graceful ceremony at the AJK Legislative Assembly in Muzaffarabad.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Mehtab Abbasi, Federal Minister Barjees Tahir and Ahsan Iqbal, Senator Saleem Zia, MNA Malik Shakeel, Speaker Shah Ghulam Qadir, Former Prime Minister Chaudhary Abdul Majeed, Siddique ul Farooq, Marvi Memon, Hanif Abbasi,members of AJK Legislative Assembly and Kashmir Council, party leaders, High ranking officials and large number of people attended the ceremony.
Earlier, Raja Farooq Haider Khan of Pakistan Muslim League-N elected as Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
During the polling in AJK Legislative Assembly on Sunday, Raja Farooq Haider Khan secured 38 votes while a joint candidate of Muslim Conference and PTI Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Dewan and Chaudhry Muhammad Yaseen of Pakistan People’s Party bagged five votes each.
After his election, Raja Farooq Haider Khan assured the House that he will utilize all his capabilities to come to expectations of people.
He said PML-N government in the state will show zero tolerance for corruption and work on merit.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has congratulated Raja Farooq Haider on being elected as AJK Prime Minister.
In his facilitation message the Prime Minister expressed confidence that Raja Farooq Haider will work for development and prosperity of Azad Kashmir and its people.
He said Raja Farooq Haider’s election will strengthen Pakistan moral diplomatic and political support to just and legitimate struggle of the Kashmiris in Occupied Kashmir for their right to self-determination.
Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi have also congratulated Raja Farooq Haider Khan on his election as AJK Prime Minister.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif also felicitated Raja Farooq Haider and hoped that he will come up to the expectations of his people.
