Srinagar, Jun 9 : All train runs were suspended as a precautionary measure in Kashmir valley, where separatists have called for a general strike today in protest against the killing of a youth allegedly in security force firing on June 6 evening at Shopian.
However, traffic on national highway, connecting the valley with the rest of the country, was through.
‘We have suspended all train runs in the valley today,’ a railway official told news agency.
He said train runs from Srinagar-Badgam to Baramulla in north Kashmir have been suspended.
Similarly, train service from Badgam-Srinagar-Anantnag-Qazigund to Banihal in Jammu region were also cancelled.
