New Delhi, May 31 Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday launched a fresh attack at the Modi government over demonetisation in November 2016 and said the people will never forget the pain it had suffered due to the ‘dictatorial decree’.
“On November 8, 2016, people had to stand in the queue to withdraw their own money in the name of ‘demonetisation’. Many people had died after they stood in the queue for hours. The people of the country will never forget the pain (they) suffered due to ‘dictatorial decree’ of a king,” the Congress MP wrot.
Citing he had earlier called demonetisation a ‘national disaster’, the former Congress President claimed it was done done deliberately to benefit a few industrialist friends of Modi.
“Modiji did not make a mistake but had done it deliberately to waive off loans of his industrialist friends and convert ‘black money’ into white,” the MP said.
