Srinagar: Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit Kashmir valley tomorrow, where the youth Congress has already started a campaign to enroll members below the age of 35 into the party fold.
According to party sources Mr Gandhi is scheduled arrive here tomorrow on a two-day visit to the state.
Mr Gandhi is scheduled to meet the youths, particularly those who will be enrolled as new members of the party during the campaign started by the youth Congress in the Kashmir valley during the past few days.
A group of youth Congress leaders, locals and non-locals met a number of students in the Kashmir University pursuing them to join the party by simply filling a membership form and paying Rs 15 to get an opportunity to meet the Congress General Secretary.
The youth congress leaders informed the students that they will get an opportunity to have a fruitful interaction with Mr Gandhi, who will listen to the problems being faced by the youths in the Kashmir valley in general and students in particular.
The interaction with Mr Gandhi will not BE linked to politics, they said adding that it will provide an opportunity to Kashmiri youths, irrespective of their education qualification, to get a proper platform.
They clarified that the drive should not be linked with politics as Mr Gandhi wants youths should come forward for the development of the country.
On the membership form is inscribed a slogan ‘Youth of Jammu and Kashmir, come join the revolution’.
