Srinagar, (KMW News): The Deputy Commissioner Ramban, the Jammu and Kashmir police personnel and any other official responsible for the brutal and inhuman killings of unarmed protesters in Gool need to be arrested immediately and cases registered against them under the laws of the land. They should languish in jails until the law takes it course and exemplary punishment is given to the guilty. This was the immediate step that should have been taken by NC-Cong coalition government. This was stated by ANC Sr. Vice President Mr Muzzafar Shah in press statement issued today. The BSF jawans involved in the dastardly and inhuman act of this magnitude of ransacking religious school and desecrating the Holy Quran need to be stripped off their uniforms along with their commanding officer. They should be lodged in the state jails, cases registered for arson , loot , murder and other laws applicable be initiated by the state government at once. Mr Muzzafar Shah said “Our heart goes all out for the innocents who lost their lives in this carnage, perpetuated by men in uniform. We pray for Magfirat to the departed”. ANC Sr. Vice President further stated that it was not only the NC in power , but its coalition partner, the Congress , its leadership and also the opposition who are equally responsible for the mess that has been created in the in the state since decades. Their hands are soaked with the blood of innocents .He put blame on all these so-called mainstream political parties and other representatives in the state assembly for having failed miserably in the abrogation of AFSPA, which could have been accomplished, had they raised their voice in unison . The special powers conferred under Art 370 of the constitution, if exercised, does not require concurrence of the central government for repeal of AFSPA, once the state assembly desired so. They have failed to discharge their duties in safeguarding the fundamental rights and the lives and property of the people who they claim to represent, he said. Mr Muzzafar Shah said, “we the people of Jammu and Kashmir are the most unfortunate on this earth, as our leaderships, be it be mainstream or the separatists, are a divided lot. We have not been able to form a united voice that could safeguard the interests of the people and no one could dare to trample upon the fundamentals of life and property.” He further stated that the barbaric attack on one of the most pious and humble doctors of the state who has served the people in the darkest hours of the contemporary history of Kashmir, is meted out such treatment and is today struggling for survival. “ We stand in prayers with the people for Dr Shiekh Jalal u din’s speedy recovery and also pray for Magfirat to two of his security guards who lost their lives in the attack” Muzaffar Shah said .
