Srinagar: The state government today invoked Public Safety Act (PSA) against Democratic Freedom Party leader Shabir Ahmad Shah. Shah, who was under detention at Srinagar Central Jail has subsequently been shifted to Kot Balwal Jail in Jammu, family sources told.
Meanwhile, expressing serious concern over deteriorating health of Shabir Ahmad Shah, family members of the leader questioned the motive of authorities behind slapping Public Safety Act (PSA) on him.
“Shah Sahab is undergoing treatment of three doctors at the same time. He needs continuous monitoring by his doctors. I fail to understand how PSA could be slapped against a person who was already under detention”, said Shah’s wife, Dr Bilkees while talking to news agency.
“He was in Srinagar central jail and I fail to understand the logic behind slapping PSA against him”, she lamented. She claimed that Shah is in immediate need of medical treatment and care.
