Srinagar: Taking a dig at pro-Indian political parties, APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said these parties are involved in political exploitation and bloodshed of Kashmiris. He said the pro-Indian political parties were resorting to political opportunism by paying tribute to martyrs of Kashmir and by talking of unity. He said these parties have unleashed oppression on Kashmiris and thus can’t be forgiven for what they have done. Mirwaiz said that Shaheed-e-Millat was supportive of unity in the broader interest of Kashmiri people, adding, unity of millat was the aim of his life. He said that Shaheed-e-Millat was never after economic packages or political power, but he fought for the supreme cause of freedom for the Kashmiri people, adding, he sacrificed his life as well.
Unlike pro-Indian parties, Mirwaiz said that APHC and AAC stands for resolution of Kashmir issue according to the wishes and aspirations of Kashmiri people. He said that hurriyat was taking forward a cause, adding, movements demand sacrifice, martyrdom, and blood. He said by imposing restrictions on Hafta Shohda programme organized by APHC and ACC, authorities can’t disassociate Kashmiri people from Shaheed-e-Millat and hurriyat since restrictions, arrests and house detentions can’t change the thinking, aspirations and emotions of people Mirwaiz said if pro- Indian parties were the well wishers of Kashmiri people, then they should renounce the politics of power and join APHC.
He, however, said the reality was that these parties were helpless before the Indian forces. He said political power and individual vested interests were dearer to them instead of the interests of Kashmiri people. He said incidents like Kunanposhpura, Sopore, Chattisingh pora, Gaw Kadal, Bijbehera, Machil fake encounter, Shopian and many other gory incidents occurred during the times of these people who represent the pro Indian parties in Kashmir. He said how come then unity is possible with those people whose hands are smeared with the blood of innocent Kashmiris.
Mirwaiz said that government has crossed all the limits of political retribution. He said wanton use of pellet gun, chilli grenades and pepper gun are both inhuman and immoral. He said more than 32 people have been rendered physically challenged by the use of the so called non lethal weapons. He said four people Sajad Ahmad, Abdul Rashid Sheikh, Mohammad Yousuf, Hajra Begum were strangulated to death by inhaling lethal gases emitted by these weapons.
APHC Chairman said hurriyat would take all the necessary actions to ban these lethal weapons and would officially approach the court on upcoming Monday to file case in these regard. He also appealed human rights groups to take strong notice of the HR violations committed by Indian forces in Kashmir.
