Realizing that Inspector had tried to tarnish the chastity of the little girl, we all pounced upon the accused and roughed him up. His two associates pleading innocence were let off while, locals handed over the accused to police,” a local wishing anonymity told.
The locals alleged that the accused Police Inspector was drunk during the time of ‘act’.
The respectable citizens of the area met top police officials and demanded stringent punishment to the guilty. “We have arrested the accused and he is in police lockup in Larnoo police station. We have not arrested his two associates accompanying him as according to locals they are innocent. We have registered a case vide FIR number 93/2014 under section 343,354,323 of RPC against the accused,” Station House Officer Larnoo Police Station Muhammad Yousuf told.
Another police official said that Inspector Ajaz during the time of arrest was drunk and he was currently posted in District Police Lines Kulgam. “The accused Inspector has lot of acquaintance in Kokarnag area as he has served as SHO Kokarnag for a pretty long time,” he said. (CNS)
