Srinagar, October 31(KMW): Srinagar arrested an impersonator who called senior officers as Dr. Shah Faisal for getting favours.
Srinagar police had received information that from the last two months some officers of the state were receiving calls from a mobile number and the caller used to reveal his identity as Dr. Shah Faisal and is asking for some favours from them.
A case FIR number 210/2013 under section 66 IT Act was registered in police station Saddar and the investigation was started. During investigations the particular cell number was traced to Showkat Ahamd Lone son of Mohammad Ramzan resident of Batwina, Ganzpora, Gandarbal. He was arrested and the mobile phone with particular cell number was recovered from his possession. During his questioning, he confessed of impersonating as Dr. Shah Faisal (IAS) for extracting favours from government officials.
