Srinagar, July 8 (KMW): The State unit of BJP Wednesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not visiting Kashmir on eve of Eid-ul-Fitr.
“Though PM has been invited to take part in a function in Jammu on July 17 to mark the 100th birth anniversary of former MP and Minister Gridhari Lal Dogra, there is no confirmation from the PMO about his visit to Jammu and Kashmir. But I can tell you with the responsibility that PM is not visiting Kashmir,” BJP’s Spokesmen Khalid Jahangir told KMW over phone.
He said that BJP’s state leadership is in discussion with the Prime Minister’s Office regarding the visit of PM. “As of now this information that was spread that the Prime Minister’s is visiting Srinagar is incorrect,” he said.
It was reported that Modi is scheduled to visit Kashmir on July 17, a day before Eid-ul-Fitr.
So far, Modi has visited Jammu and Kashmir six times since he took office as the Prime Minister in May last year.
