Photojournalist Mushtaq Ali’s remembered on his 20th anniversary

Srinagar, 10 Sep : A delegation of Jammu & Kashmir Young Journalist Association led by President Ajaz Ahmad War along with Bilal Bashir Bhat, Shabir Ahmad Bud and other senior members visited the Martyrs graveyard Eidgah Srinagar to pay tributes to Late Mushtaq Ali on his 20th death anniversary. Mushtaq Ali lost his life in a parcel bomb on 10/09/1995 two more journalists Yusuf Jameel and Habib Naqash were injured in the explosion.

On the occasion senior Journalists Yousuf Jameel, Imdad Saki, Ehsaan Fazili, Mehraj-ud-Din, Habib Naqash, and separatist leaders Javaid Ahmad Mir, Engineer Hilal Ahmad War, Shakeel Ahmad Bakhshi were also present.

He worked with Asian News International as a video journalist and also with Agence France Press as a photographer.

“We offer our great salute to Mushtaq Ali for the contributions he has made to the field of journalism in Kashmir. We really are indebted to his great sacrifices,” stated Ajaz Ahmad War, President JKYJA.

At least eight journalists have been killed since 1989 in militancy related incidents. Dozens of journalists were also hurt in separate attacks on them.
