Srinagar: Reacting sharply to the statement made by PDP leader Muzaffar Hussain Beigh, senior National Conference leader Ali Mohammad Sagar Monday said that PDP is certain of the defeat in coming elections and to save its skin it now plays election boycott card. “How can boycott help us? PDP is unaware about the history. People have always voted for the NC and it is the reality,” Sagar told Srinagar based news gathering agency CNS adding that PDP was formed by communal forces to scuttle the demand of autonomy made by NC.
“Omar Abdullah has been showing keen interest in certain issues pertaining to people and PDP has started showing the signs of frustration. PDP knows it well that NC will certainly make it in coming elections and to save their skin this party has started telling people that boycott will help us,” Sagar said.
He said that everyone knows when NC passed autonomy resolution, then Government of India rejected it but soon after this development PDP came into existence. “There is no doubt in it that PDP was the creation of communal forces and whenever any issue in the interest of people is at the verge of culmination, this party acts as a barrier and scuttles everything,” Sagar said.
“Now this party is talking about Srinagar. I want to ask them what they did for Srinagar city during their rule. They promised people to start new projects and contrary the mauled its beauty. This party has no right to talk about Srinagar city,” Sagar said and added that it was PDP which was directly responsible for the start of terrorism here.
“These people brought Jagmohan here and played great role in dozens of massacres here. Late Mirwaiz Molvi Mohammad Farooq was killed by these people and now they are talking a different language,” Sagar said and added that the boycott call extended by separatist groups would have no bearing on the coming elections.
Sagar further said that whether people boycott or not, NC will emerge victorious because people of Kashmir sincerely and truly support National Conference.
