PDP’s Waheed Para asked to vacate lavish Gupkar residence

Srinagar, Aug 06(KMW): The authorities have asked Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Youth leader and former Secretary Sports Council Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra to vacate the government allotted residential quarter at Gupkar Road Srinagar.

Sources said, an eviction notice has been served to Waheed Parra asking to vacate the lavish residence situated at Gupkar Road Srinagar. The notice served to Parra reads, “to take away her personal belongings from the quarter.”

“Besides Parra a number of political personalities from PDP cadre have been asked or will be asked in near future to vacate the respective residences,” sources added.

A resident of highly militancy affected Tahab Pulwama of South Kashmir, Parra was allotted government security cover and accommodation soon after he joined the PDP cadre under late Mufti Muhammad Sayeed’s leadership. During PDP-BJP coalition government Waheed was appointed as Secretary Sports Council, On June 22 Parra submitted his resignation to J&K Governor.

The order by the authorities to vacate the residence came almost after a month BJP pulls out support from PDP led coalition government.

Earlier, Peoples Democratic Party President and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti was asked to evict her official residence in New Delhi.

Pertinently, Waheed Parra is considered as ‘Youth Icon’ who could motivate youth towards sporting and political activities.

When contacted PDP additional spokesperson Mr. Tahir Saeed, he expressed ignorance over the development.
