Srinagar: Senior PDP leader and former deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Beig has condemned the attack on a prominent party worker and sarpanch of Saderkote in Sonawari constituency Ab Salam Rather. Rather according to his statement was ambushed by NC workers while he was going around in his locality and seriously injured sustaining deep wounds caused by sharp edge weapons.
In statement Baig said the attack was cowardly and reflected the desperation that has over taken the NC cadre under its failing leadership. It also could provide a clue to the unresolved cases of violence against many Panchayat members in the valley.
PDP chief spokesperson Naeem Akhtar, Senior leader & MLA Nizamudin Bhat and district president Yasir Reshi have also strongly condemned the attack on Ab Salam. All the leaders called for speedy investigation in the case and strong action against the culprits.
