PCI issues guidelines for overseas employment advertisements

JAMMU: The Press Council of India (PCI) has issued a set of guidelines to regulate the manner and procedure to be followed by the companies for advertising the overseas vacancies in the Newspapers.

The guidelines have been issued to keep a check on the unauthorized foreign employers and recruiting agents.
As per PCI guidelines, such advertisements should contain registration certificate number/ Permit number (of Employer), full address with Telephone number (these could be given in addition to the full address but not as the mode of communication).
Further, the advertisement must contain the name of the employer, his central registration number, telephone number and e-mail ID, along with the name of destination country, while no fee towards processing application or for any other purpose shall be charged from the applicant.
The advertisement is also required to contain number of vacancies, posts in each category and also the salary offered to each category of Job. (KMW News)
