SRINAGAR: Union Secretary for Tourism, Mr Parvez Dewan today laid the foundation stone of Hostel Block at Indian Institution of Hotel Management, Raj Bagh.
Commissioner Secretary, Tourism and Culture, Mr Atal Dulloo and Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Mr Farooq Ahmed Shah were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Dewan said that Ministry of Tourism has sanctioned an amount of Rs. 726.30 lac for the construction of Hostel Block of Institute of Hotel Management Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition.
The infrastructure to be raised and provided the facilities to students include language Lab, Laundry, Board Room and Hostel Support Services.
Union Secretary directed the PWD (R&B) to complete the project within stipulated time frame so that the construction work benefits the students and the courses scheduled to be taught are started at proper time.
The R&B Department had submitted the estimated cost of Rs 7.35 crore and accordingly the administrative approval was given to the said construction agency.
Mr Parvez stressed upon the construction agencies to complete the work with zeal and dedication, and further said there is no shortage of funds, however he impressed upon the executing agency to utilize the funds judiciously.
