New Delhi: Panthers Party is going to file a petition in the Supreme Court seeking CBI probe into the death of Syed Mohammed Yousuf Shah allegedly at the residence of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Panthers Party president Bhim Singh has told the media yesterday that he will be filing a PIL in the Supreme Court seeking CBI investigation into the circumstances leading to the death of Yousuf who was considered very close to the Abdullah family.
Yousuf, who was a fixer and was known in the political circles in the state for his capability to get work done for a price, had allegedly died due to severe beating and torture on September 30.
Opposition parties in the state are demanding the resignation of Mr Abdullah to ensure free and fair investigation in the case.
The state government has already ordered a judicial inquiry.
Mr Abdullah is facing allegation that Yousuf was tortured at his instance.
