Srinagar: Chief Patron Jammu Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi (MeA) Muhammad Azam Inqilabi Monday expressed dismay over the reported statement in AJK Muslim conference rally at Neelabutt on 23 August that Pakistani government wants to make AJK as one of its provinces.
In a statement issued here, Inqilabi said, “If this news is true it shows that not only Pakistani government is non-serious about ideology of Pakistan but it will also deliver a big blow to Kashmir resistance movement.”
He said resistance leaders and activists here have been “taken aback” by this news.
“But we are surprised to see no reaction by resistance groups in AJK over this statement,” he added.
MeA Patron said leadership in AJK has “neutralized its status as base camp of our freedom struggle.”
“They showed more interest in sending their youth abroad than freedom struggle in Kashmir,” he said.
Inqilabi said on 11 August 2008, Sheikh Aziz and other valiant people marched towards Loc.
“They were demanding demolition of ceasefire line and unification of Kashmir. But they fell to bullets and nearly a dozen of them including Aziz achieved martyrdom,” he said.
He said “our brethren on other side of ceasefire line should have expressed solidarity on August 11 by suspending their business and other routine work for a day and organize public rallies and other programs. But that didn’t happen.”
MeA patron said peaceful, political resistance movement on both sides of Loc is necessary to take the struggle forward.
“Pakistani leadership should understand that any resistance initiative taken by Azad Kashmir is much better than conditional political, diplomatic and moral support of Pakistan,” he said.
He said this “resistance doctrine demands Azad Kashmir be empowered so that it can take part with us in the resistance struggle.”
Inqilabi said unity of vision and though on both sides of Loc is imperative to take the struggle to its logical conclusion.
“That will force India to come clean on Kashmir issue,” the press statement reads.
He said in order to achieve the objective of freedom “it is necessary that leadership from Srinagar to Muzaffarabad puts up a united front.”

Quoting from an article of Late Gh. Nabi Hagroo, a senior leader of once plebiscite front, in which he mentions about a group of youth who went to meet Sheikh Abdullah.
“They went there and criticized Indra-Sheikh accord of 1975. Sheikh listened patiently. And then replied that they (youth) are free to choose their own path and I won’t come in your way to stop you.”
Inqilabi said Sheikh’s promise turned out to be just as of Nehru’s promise of plebiscite in Kashmir.
“Sheikh’s progeny has always bailed out India so as to enjoy perks and privileges of power,” he said.
MeA patron condemned the continuous detention of Dr. Qasim, Mushtaq-ul-Islam and Masarat Aalam and restrictions on resistance veteran Syed Ali Shah Geelani.
He said Sheikh’s off spring has forgotten his promise of “I won’t come in your way to stop you”.
Asking Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to read the Holy Quran which says “…and fulfill the promise; indeed the promise will be asked about.” (Surah Bani Israel, Verse no: 34). Here is a message in it for Indian Premier Dr. Manmohan Singh as well. (KMW News)
