Islamabad: Pakistan wants to have a “productive and constructive” dialogue with India to resolve all outstanding issues, including the Kashmir problem, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said today.
Qureshi’s remarks came ahead of a meeting of the Foreign Secretaries of the two countries on the sidelines of a SAARC meeting in Bhutan next month.
Qureshi made the remarks while responding to a question regarding the resumption of the Pakistan-India dialogue during a joint news conference with his visiting Bulgarian counterpart Nickolay Mladenov.
There is growing realisation in India that the movement in Jammu and Kashmir is “indigenous” and it should be resolved through political means, Qureshi claimed.
Both countries have exchanged proposals aimed at resuming their stalled peace process.
