Pakistan has been a good partner: Clinton

PARIS: US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Thursday that Pakistan has been a good partner to the United States in its counter-terrorism efforts, and said she sought a long-term partnership with the country.
The United States was also “ready and willing” to help Pakistan in its own fight against terrorism on its home soil, said Clinton, speaking to reporters at the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development in Paris.
Clinton added that the United States has a set of expectations “across the board” for the Pakistani government to meet, without giving further details.
Relations between Washington and Islamabad have been strained since U.S. commandos killed al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in a raid on his hideout in Pakistan on May 2, without the knowledge of the Pakistani authorities. (Reuters)
