Advisor on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz expressed deep concern over the detention of Kashmiri leaders on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Pakistan has called upon India to respect the basic rights of Kashmiris in Indian-administered Kashmir.

In a statement, Advisor on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz expressed deep concern over the detention of Kashmiri leaders on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. He termed the detension as violation of fundamental right of religious freedom of Kashmiris.

The Advisor also urged the international community to take note of the situation.

Sartaj Aziz said celebration of Eid this year is specially significant because it is being observed all over the globe on the same day, from Pakistan to the Middle East and Europe to the Americas, and by Kashmiris in Azad Kashmir as well as Indian-administered Kashmir.
