Shawal: The Pakistan Taliban has threatened to kill Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan if he holds a planned march to their tribal stronghold to protest US drone attacks.
Ahsanullah Ahsan, Taliban spokesman, said they
would attack Imran Khan because he calls himself a â€liberal†a term they associate with a lack of religious belief.
Interestingly, many in Pakistan think Imran has a soft corner for the Taliban and some of his critics have nicknamed him “Taliban Khanâ€.
â€We will kill him,†said Ahsanullah Ahsan told The Associated Press in an interview.
Khan has said he is planning to lead thousands of people in a march to Waziristan in September to stage a protest against the strikes.
â€We will not accept help or sympathy from any infidel,†said Ahsan, referring to Khan. â€We can fight on our own with the help of God,†he said, as drones buzzed overhead.
â€The election process is part of a secular system. We want an Islamic system and will create hurdles to secularism.â€
