Pak PM saves half his salary, owns no car

Islamabad: Pakistan Premier Yousuf Raza Gilani, whose net worth is Rs 1.9 crore, does not even own a car and his total savings in 2009-10 stood at Rs 5.7 lakh, more than half of his annual salary which is his only source of income.
As per the statements of assets and liabilities of members of the National Assembly or lower house submitted to the Election Commission, the value of Gilani’s only declared property remained almost unchanged during 2009-10.
In his statement, the Prime Minister described his salary as the only source of income.
The statement shows that out of his net annual salary of over Rs 9.7 lakh, his savings during the year were Rs 5.7 lakh while domestic expenses stood at Rs 4 lakh, the Dawn newspaper reported.
