Islamabad: The US has delivered over USD 633 million to Pakistan as part of its ongoing commitment to the country’s “national defence” and the joint effort in the fight against violent extremist groups.
The funding from the Coalition Support Fund was delivered to the Pakistan government on Wednesday, the US embassy spokesman Alberto Rodriguez said here today.
The sum of over USD 633 million had been given to Pakistan as part of the US’ commitment to the country’s “national defence and the joint effort in the fight against violent extremist groups,” he said.
The Coalition Support Fund is designed to reimburse Pakistan for expenses incurred in fighting militants.
The Pakistan government expends hundreds of millions of dollars annually in this effort, Rodriguez said.
