Nirmal, AP: The Majilis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) floor leader in the state Assembly Akbaruddin Owaisi was today sent t0 14-days judicial remand in the hate speech controversy.
The Nirnal Munsis magistrate Ajesh Kumar passes the order after Adilabad district police presented him at the magistrate’s residence early today.
Owaisi was later taken to Adilabad district jail.
The MIM MLA complained to the magistrate regarding his health and urged that he may be sent to Chanchalguda jail in Hyderabad or any other jail which have proper medical facilities.
He also appealed to the magistrate to pass orders treating him as a special class prisoner.
Meanwhile, the police asked the magistrate to allow Owaisi for one week custody for interrogation. The magistrate reportedly asked the police to file a petition to this effect.
