One Militant killed in fierce encounter in south Kashmir

Srinagar: An unidentified militant was killed in a fierce encounter ensued in south Kashmir district of Pulwama, official sources said here today.

They said troops of Rashstriya Rifles (RR) and police launched a joint operation at village Chandgam Asthan Mohalla in Pulwama following a tip-off about the presence of militants early this morning.
However, when the security forces were going towards particular area militants opened fire with automatic weapons. Security forces also returned the fire.
One militant was killed so far as encounter was going on when the reports last came in, they said.(KMW News)
