Srinagar, (KMW News): On specific information regarding the presence of militants in village Vandena in the jurisdiction of police station Zainapora. Shopian Police and 55 RR launched a joint search operation this afternoon.
Militants fired upon the search party, triggering an encounter in which one militant has been killed. The encounter continues.
Meanwhile, Handwara Police and 47 RR recovered arms and ammunition in Wuchar forests of Wogbal area.
During a search operation in Wuchar forests of village Wogbal, Handwara Police and 47 RR recovered one AK 47, one AK 56, nine Pika grenades, two AK magazines, 32 rounds of AK ammunition, eighteen rounds of Pika, one pistol magazine, three pistol rounds and a matrix sheet from a hideout.
A case has been registered in this regard.
