Srinagar: Blaming Omer Abdullah led Government for promoting hooliganism, Hurriyat has strongly criticized the continues detention of Chairman Syed Ali Geelani. Friday in a press release spokesman castigated the administration for its duel and undemocratic approach and added the Omer Abdullah led government is hell-bent to muzzle the genuine voice and while denying the basic rights to its leader to perform religious duties and prayers has virtually accepted the defeat at political front. Though the administration has decided to detain Syed Ali Geelani forever but no announcement or any legal or administrative order in this regard has been served said spokesman in his statement.
They are afraid and frustrated and added the administration is not allowing him to venture outside his residence. It is totally injustice and added, Syed Ali Geelani is under continuous house arrest since peoples up rise in 2010 and undue curbs were imposed over his religious, personal and social activities. Refuting the claim of police chief, spokesman stated that the statement issued by authorities is a blatant lie and deceitful, “Syed Ali Geelani was never allowed to offer Friday prayers in local mosque, added spokesman, and a large contingent of police is surrounding his residence and Hurriyat leader is confined to four walls of his residence. Spokesman said that the continued detention of political leaders had made ridiculous the position of Omar Abdullah government.
Taking dig at tall claims of Omer Abdullah as regards to democracy and fair treatment to all, spokesman added that, it is an ample proof that India’s claim being biggest democracy in world is mere illusion. While referring the continuous detention of Syed Ali Geelani, Hurriyat made it clear that the people in power have resorted to unconstitutional curbs and accepted political defeat and seem to be not in a position to face on political front.
He urged the international human rights organizations including Amnesty International to influence New Delhi to release all the political detainees and ensure immediate revocation of PSA which is in force in Jammu Kashmir. Reiterating its demand for immediate and unconditional release of all political detainees’ Hurriyat urged upon international organizations to impress Indian authorities to release all detainees from detention and expressed serious concern over the continuous detention of Nasir Abdullah (Palhallan),Javeed Ahmad Bhat (Palhallan) and Mohammad Maqbool Mir (pattan) .Meanwhile Hurriyat has strongly criticized administration and expressed its dismay over the continues detention of profreedom leader Mohammad Yasin Yatto .Spokesman while lamenting the authorities added that said leader was not produced for hearing despite court orders .He is suffering from lumber pain and no medical advice or proper treatment is provided to him added spokesman.
