Srinagar,(KMW News): Engineer Hilal Ahmad War, Chairman,  People’s Political Party (PPP) has termed the recent statement of Omar Abdullah in which he had expressed his concern over educated youth picking up arms as a cruel joke and called for honest introspection over this serious issue.
Hilal War, said with authority that had not Sheikh Abdullah been arrested in 1964 immediately after the death of Jawahar Lal Nehru, he would have been the Chief Commander of Armed Struggle of 1965 which took the shape of war between India and Pakistan. Being an educated person when Sheikh Abdullah had realized in 1964 that Kashmiris are under illegal occupation and opted to liberate Kashmir through armed struggle why cannot Kashmiri youth think on those lines. Rest is history how Sheikh Abdullah entered the palace of power through Indira Abdullah Accord in 1975 after disbandment of Plebiscite Front.
Mr. War, said, “Gun is not daily food for Kashmiris but a bitter medicine towards the treatment of the disease (unresolved Kashmir problem)”. Once the honest and sincere steps are taken towards the resolution of Kashmir tangle the gun will automatically disappear from the scene.
“Omar Abdullah should have stepped down soon after he had witnessed killing of few youth in 2010 unrest in police action but he instead presided over a large scale massacre of youth and chained and caged the freedom of expression of thousands with brute suppression so as to curb their democratic struggle for right to self determination.”
Engineer Hilal termed this statement a mere vote bank tactics and called for Government of India to heed to the peoples struggle for right to self determination before it is too little too late. “The way reign of terror has been unleashed upon the people especially on the large majority of youth could result in turning Kashmir into a mini Afghanistan, the onus of which would fall entirely on callous attitude of government of India.
Stating that these developments of intellectual youth picking up gun are results of being victims of history on account of continuous mass atrocities committed by state. “The intellectual youth via diverse atrocities are forced to pick up arms and those who are left are suffocated. This development has also nullified foolish claims of those desktop experts who used to link it with unemployment. I am also a glaring example of this veracity and this multi-natured suppression makes sometimes me to think on other options as well.
He stated Omar Abdullah should introspect and if he has conscience left he should kick the chair and fulfill the unfinished dream and agenda of his grandfather Shiekh Mohammad Abdullah to resolve the Kashmir issue in accordance with wishes and aspirations of masses.
