Srinagar: Chief Patron Jammu Kashmir Mahaz-e-Azadi (MeA) Muhammad Azam Inqilabi Monday said Omar Abdullah should resign if he cannot release resistance leaders and other detainees.

In a statement issued here, Inqilabi demanded release of University student Munazir Amin Dar and resistance leaders Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Dr. Qasim, Masarat Aalam and other political prisoners.

“Reminding India of her own promise of plebiscite in Kashmir is seen as a greatest sin by Indian government,” he said.

MeA patron said “India reneged on her promises regarding Kashmir. It forced Kashmiris to launch resistance movement against its rule here.”

He said on October 27 Indian forces landed in Kashmir and in November 1947 the then Indian Prime Minister Pandit Nehru promised Self determination to Kashmiris at Lal Chowk.

“But since then Indian forces have killed nearly six lakh Kashmiris demanding nothing but their right of self-determination,” he added.

Inqilabi said Indian leaders are adopting Chanakiyan and Macavellian tactics to suppress the resistance here. “But resistance leadership is carrying forward mission in a peaceful manner.”

“Be it Mahaz-e-Azadi, JKLF or Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Sahab or even Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami Sahab are demanding demilitarization of Kashmir on either side of the Loc,” he said.

He said MeA believes that “United-Kashmir Parliament” can decide the fate of Kashmir issue under the principle of right to self-determination.

MeA patron said if situation on both sides of the Loc is “under some control, it is only because of pacifist resistance leadership.”

He said Indian leadership should understand that Kashmir is sitting on a powder keg.

“Atomic power Pakistan armed with Shaheen and Ghauri missiles is playing its role as a party to the Kashmir dispute. And in case of any eventuality China won’t sit silent and situation can take any turn. So it is better for Indian leadership to shun rigidity and start process of tripartite talks on Kashmir dispute,” he added.

Backing Hurriyat (G) Chief, Inqilabi said “To protect Kashmir’s religious identity and environment whatever resistance line he (Geelani) will adopt entire nation will support him.”

Advising Kashmiri students to adopt modest dress code, he said “Students should wear the dress in which offering prayers will become easy for them.”

MeA patron appealed for a joint rally of all resistance leaders on Nov. 11 at historic Lal chowk. “On this day pro-freedom leadership will remind India of her Nov. 11, 1947 promise regarding referendum in Kashmir.”

“Nov. 11, 2012 will be a test for Indian democracy,” he said. (KMW News)
