Tehran: The Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in a statement on Wednesday condemned violation of Iran air space by a US spy drone.
The Secretary General of OIC, Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, reiterated in the statement the principled position of the OIC in condemnation of any violation of the territory of its member states.
This was expressed in the OIC secretary general’s response to a letter sent by Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi on the violation of the Iranian air space by an American pilotless aircraft.
Expressing his grave concern about the incident, Ihsanoglu noted that such events may endanger the already volatile situation in the region.
Furthermore, he seized the opportunity and appealed for utmost restraint to avoid any action which may jeopardize peace, security and stability of the region. (KMW News)
