SRINAGAR: Terming October 27, 1947, a slur on the face of Indian democracy and a big question mark on the credibility, relevance, purpose and existence of United Nations, the Chairman of J&K People’s Political Party (PPP), Engineer Hilal Ahmad War urged the people of Kashmir to observe a complete shutdown on the day and protest against Indian military occupation.
Mr. War said, Jammu Kashmir was a sovereign and   an Independent Nation by virtue of Indian Independence Act, 1947 passed by British Parliament till October 26, 1947.   The intervention and military action of Indian Army on October 27, 1947 was unconstitutional, illegal, unjustified and against the golden principles of United Nations Charter.
This was the darkest day in the History of Jammu and Kashmir therefrom Indian Army occupied the territory of Jammu and Kashmir against the wishes of people of Jammu and Kashmir and enslaved a nation.
Since Maharaja Hari Singh had faced defeat at the hands of his subjects and was forced to run away from Srinagar during the night of 26/27 October, 1947, along with his royal treasury, towards Jammu, his authority and control over the affairs of Jammu and Kashmir had come to an end. Therefore, he had no legal, moral or political authority to enter into any Agreement or Treaty with the Government of India for sending of Military and Air Force to combat the revolutionary Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir which had full support of the overwhelming majority of the people of Jammu and Kashmir who were already at draggers drawn against Maharaja Hari Singh through their political struggle which had assumed the shape of “Quit Kashmir Movement”  , since 1946. The resistance that took place in the length and breadth of Jammu and Kashmir was the consequence of the naked aggression whereby the sovereignty of people of J & K was robbed under a design by Government of India.
Moreover , Government of India , in violation of all norms of humanity , decency, democratic principles and even the United Nations Charter, deployed Indian Army , supported by Indian Air Force , to wage a war against the people of Jammu and Kashmir , on the pretext of the so-called Accession which was a mockery and deception to hoodwink the world.
The PPP Chairman said that the diplomatic channels should be opened across the world to draw the attention of the world community towards the Indian occupation in Kashmir which is not only against the wishes of its inhabitants but also against the philosophy, purpose and the very existence of United Nations.
The unimplemented resolutions of U.N. 18 in number those have been passed from time-to-time but not implemented is the sad commentary on the existence and relevance of U.N. This concept is further confirmed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (K .S.A.) by not accepting the membership of  U.N. because of the fact that U.N. is a toothless tiger when it comes to the problems faced by Middle East countries and also J & K. J & K and Middle east ( Palestine) issues are the oldest chronic , unattended problems pending on the U.N. Agenda. The hypocrisy is manifest at the face of it when you experience the miseries and sufferings of innocent vast majorities of people living in such unfortunate geographical locations, said Er.War.
