Not against talks: Tehreek Hurriyat

Srinagar: Tehreek-e-Hurriyat led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani Friday reiterated that the conglomerate was not against dialogue but insisted that New Delhi must accept Kashmir as a ‘dispute.’

Addressing a seerat conference at Sopore, Tehreek Hurriyat General Secretary Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai said the amalgam the dialogue will only succeed once India accepts Kashmir as ‘dispute’.
“Once India accepts Kashmir as a dispute, the all the three parties to dispute including India, Pakistan and true leadership of Jammu and Kashmir should sit together and find resolution of Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations Resolution,” he said.
Sehrai said any dialogue under present circumstance would be waste of time has been proven in past.
According the spokesman Dr Ghulam Nabi Ganie, Sehrai while referring to the arrest of “two innocent youths Ahtisham Ahmad MAlik and Tuaseef Ahmad Mir in outside state”, said: “Indian police and other agencies were after the Kashmiris students and traders and arrest them on one pretext or the other.” Sahrai sahib also prayed for speedy recovery of ailing Tehreek Hurriyat leader Peer Saifullah, the spokesman said.
