Srinagar: Inspector General of Police, Kashmir range, Shiv Murari Sahai, Tuesday said there was no militancy in Srinagar but militants were sneaking into the summer capital from other districts to carry out attacks and create disturbances.He was responding to a query on an ambush at a police party near Nowgam that left Head Constable Abdul Khaliq and Sg. Constable Farooq Ahmad Dar dead last night.Sahai said the militancy was not over, but on the decline. “The state is facing the militancy for the last twenty years. Though it has been contained to a larger extent, yet our fight will go on till it is not completely routed and during this fight police we will not deter to offer the supreme sacrifices for the nation,†he said while speaking to reporters at the wreath laying ceremony of the two cops held at District police lines Srinagar.”HC Abdul Khaliq, belonging to Ajas village of Bandipora is survived by wife, and five children including two daughters, while Sg. Ct Farooq Ahmad Dar hailing from Mughal Pora, Pulwama is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter,” a police spokesman said.
