Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said that no arrest warrant has been issued against the hardline Hurriyat leader S A R Geelani, as he sought to clear the misunderstanding over the developments in a hawala transaction case through twitter.
A Kolkata-based blogger posed an apprehension on Omar’s twitter account that Kashmir would “erupt” as arrest warrant has been issued against Geelani.
Replying to his ‘follower’, Omar re-tweeted “There is no arrest warrant (issued against Geelani). He has only been asked (by Delhi Police) to record his statement in connection with his alleged hawala money”.
Geelani has been asked not to leave Delhi till he has been examined in connection with the investigation of the hawala transactions case in which a close aide of his was arrested in December.
