Srinagar:Director General of Police, Ashok Prasad Friday said that police has no animosity with Hurriyat leaders but only nabbing those who are disturbing peace. He said police has got some important leads in Bemina Fidayeen attack and the militant arrested from Chattabal area is being questioned. “Several persons are being questioned and hopefully we will get some lead,” Ashok Prasad told that stone pelting is a criminal activity and whosoever indulges in it will face the music.

“Who told you that we have started a crackdown of MMM and other Hurriyat leaders? We have no animosity with anyone including Hurriyat but when someone breaks law, it becomes our duty to nab him and bring order in society,” Prasad said.
He said that there are certain people who instigate youth and those people need to be arrested and we have arrested few of them. “Our job is to maintain peace and order and that’s what we are doing,” he said adding that Police has already registered an FIR in Saidapora’s youth killing.
“An FIR has been lodged in police station in the killing of Altaf Ahmed Wani and investigation has been started. We are right now busy in maintain law and order and once there comes order we will look up all the cases,” he said.
While replying to a question, Ashok Prasad said that the police have got some important clues in Bemina Fidayeen attack. “Some persons were questioned and hopefully we will crack this case in coming days. We have already arrested a person and he is being thoroughly questioned,” DG police said. (CNS)
