Srinagar Night curfew will continue in the five km border belt and restrictions under section 144 CrPC elsewhere in the frontier district of Kupwara in north Kashmir.
Official sources today said district administration has extended the curfew restrictions in the border belt to foil any militant movement during night under the cover of darkness.
People living in the border belt have been advised to avoid moving out of homes during the night to avoid any unfortunate incident as security forces remained deployed to foil militant movement.
However, in case of emergency, the residents can move out of their homes with lantern or any other light in their hands and identify themselves when asked by the security forces.
In the past, several people were killed due to mistaken identity after security force ambush parties opened fire, leading to massive protests.
Officials said District Magistrate, Kupwara, has extended imposition of restrictions under section 144 CrPC in the district from July 25 for next 60 days.
