NIA Books 2 Awantipora Youths in Jalandhar Blasts Case

Srinagar, May 07(KMW): NIA has filed charge sheet against two Pulwama youth in connection with 14 Sep, 2018, grenade blasts in Jalandhar.
The NIA spokesman said that during the investigation, Fazil Bashir Pinchoo, resident of Ghat Mohalla Awantipora and Shahid Qayoom, resident of Kanjinag Awantipora, were arrested on 8th November 2018.
He claimed that the investigation revealed that on 14th September 2018, above-mentioned persons along with one Rauf Ahmed Mir, resident of Mirpora Mohalla, Dadasara, Tehsil Tral, and Umar Ramzan alias Ghazi, resident of Dadasara, Awantipora, carried out the grenade attacks.
Fazil Bashir Pinchoo and Shahid Qayoom were studying at St. Soldiers Institute, Jalandhar in India while Rauf Ahmed Mir and Umar Ramzan had travelled from Awantipora to Jalandhar on 13th September 2018, the NIA further claimed. It said that Rauf Ahmed Mir, Umar Ramzan and Rasik Ahmed Mir were killed during an operation by Indian forces on 22nd December 2018 at Awantipora.
The charge-sheet, the NIA said, has been filed in the Special NIA Court, Mohali, against Fazil Bashir and Sahid Qayoom under Explosive Substances Act.
