New Delhi, December 28: The Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Shipping and Chemical and Fertilizers Shri Mansukh L Mandaviya while answering a question in Lok Sabha today informed that the Kargil to Zanskar section of highway is a newly declared National Highway (NH) No. 301 with existing carriageway width less than two-lane NH standard.
He informed that this NH is entrusted to State Public Works Department (PWD), Government of J&K for its development and maintenance as an implementing agency. He said that during last three years, this Ministry has sanctioned eleven works amounting to Rs.133.84 crores for the various development works on this NH. The State PWD has incurred an expenditure of about Rs. 40.0 crore on the sanctioned works till November, 2017.
