JAMMU : A delegation of the Nations Development Association (NDA) today met Ms. Anissa Nabi (JKAS), Chief Sports Officer, J&K Sports Council, to advance the long-standing agenda of promoting and strengthening sports infrastructure in the border regions of Jammu & Kashmir. The delegation was led by Sushil Singh Charak, Chief Functionary, Nations Development Association (NDA).
During the meeting, the delegation highlighted that border areas including Bishnah, Ramgarh, Arnia, RS Pura, and Suchetgarh require consistent support, upgraded facilities, and regular sports activities to engage and empower local youth. The team emphasized that improved sports opportunities can play a vital role in youth development, discipline, and community wellbeing.
Border representatives, Rinku Choudhary (President Border) and Ashu Kumar, presented detailed inputs on the challenges faced by young athletes in the Suchetgarh sector and neighbouring areas. They stressed the need for better training infrastructure, accessible grounds, and sustained outreach programmes. Sushil Singh Charak reaffirmed NDA’s long-standing commitment to strengthening border youth engagement through structured sports programmes and collaborative initiatives with government institutions.
Responding positively, Ms. Anissa Nabi assured full cooperation from the J&K Sports Council and expressed readiness to work jointly on expanding grassroots sports initiatives across border belt areas.
The meeting concluded with a mutual understanding to advance coordinated efforts aimed at creating a stronger and more inclusive sports ecosystem for border communities.
