Rafiabad, Nov. 5 (KMW): Former Minister and Member AICC Abdul Gani Vakil today welcomed the visit of Mr. Rahul Gandhi, Vice President AICC and said that series of visits depicts his seriousness and interest to ensure development of J&K state on all fronts. He urged Mr. Rahul Gandhi to take up the issue of incorporation of 73rd Amendment and implementation of Food Security Bill in the State with Chief Minister directly as dilly dally tactics adopted by NC in this behalf are worrisome and beyond prudence. He described Shri Rahul Gandhi as a perfect and able leader for the post of Prime Ministership. He said that youth of this country connect with Rahul Ji and want to see this visionary, brilliant and dynamic leader as Prime Minister of India. Mr. Vakil was addressing a public meeting at Achabal Rafiabad in District Baramulla.
Describing Narendra Modi as communal leader who endorses communal ideology Vakil said Narender Modi could not handle Gujrat properly, a state of Indian union, how can we expect him to become able Prime Minister of this secular country, as his ideology is purely constricted, disharmonious and communal, which is clear from his speeches. A person aiming to become Prime Minister of this country must possess calm and composed persona. What this nation will expect from a person like Modi who has not even apologized for Gujrat riots till date in which thousands of innocents were butchered.
Vakil also criticized appeasement policy of National Conference towards BJP and Narender Modi at this stage, with the intention and aim, to secure power in the State, which will turn up wastage of time for NC. He said that NC has agreed to become silent partner of BJP, expressing surprise at the double standards adopted by NC, despite being in power with the support of Congress, Vakil said recent statement of Omar Abdullah endorsing Modi effect and Dr. Kamal clearly announcing unconditional support to Modi are unambiguous indicators of double standards and opportunism adopted by NC.
Vakil reiterated that Congress is a historical party and betterment of masses is its only objective and it will never endorse behind curtain agreements of its coalition partner which can damage the secular fabric of this nation rather will prefer to sacrifice power over maintaining secularism, amity and brotherhood in the country.
Besides others who addressed the gathering include Sr. Congress Leaders Ghulam Nabi Shah, Haji Mohammad Afzal Khan, Pandit Brij Nath Nehru and Tariq Ahmad Mir.
