Srinagar, March 16: To promote the importance of vaccines and the role they play in improving public health, National Vaccination day was celebrated by Aryans Institute of Nursing, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh. Dr. Sheenab Mittal, M.D. Pathology, A.P.Jain Civil Hospital Rajpura addressed students including B.Sc. Nursing, GNM, ANM etc. A skit was also organized to spread awareness. Also Matern, Inderroop, Mr. Jaswinder Singh, MLT Grade-1, Mrs. Harmeet Kaur, Staff Nurse, Mr. Mandeep Singh, MLT , A.P.Jain Civil Hospital Rajpura were present. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over the event.
Mittal while addressing said that the main aim of this day is to create awareness among the masses about their effectiveness against deadly diseases. The first dose of oral Polio vaccine was administered in 1995 in India. It was the same year that March 16 was designated as National Vaccine Day or Immunization Day, she highlighted.
Mittal further added that With the theme “Vaccines Work For All” resonating throughout the country, India’s National Immunization Day serves as a rallying call for communities to come together in the fight against polio. This Day also acknowledge and appreciate the hard work of frontline health care workers to ensure the vaccination of every child.
