National Flag unfurled at IUST, Vice Chancellor takes the salute

Awantipora, January 26: Prof Shakil Ahmad Romshoo, Vice Chancellor IUST unfurled the National Flag on the eve of Republic day at IUST campus and took the salute. The ceremony was attended by all the employees of the university.

In his address, Vice Chancellor congratulated the participants on the 75th Republic Day celebrations and said that it is on this day in 1950 that the constitution became effective.

He said that the nation is rapidly advancing and is on track to become the world’s third-largest economy, reaching $10 billion within the next 5-6 years. He expressed confidence that the vision of a developed India (Viksit Bharat) will be achieved by 2047. He further said this year’s Republic Day theme of “Viksit Bharat” and “Bharat-Loktantra Ki Matruka” signifies progress, prosperity and commitment to democracy. He said that India’s G 20 Presidency demonstrated to the world the importance and influence that our nation wields on multilateral global forums. He urged the faculty and students to engage in quality research and contribute towards nation building.

Prof NaseerIqbal, Registrar IUST congratulated the participants on the 75th Republic Day and said that Educational Institutions have a great role to play in the development of the country.
